Artist Statement – Scissors and paper Still Life Art challenge series
This surreal painting is done on 30.48*40.64 cm or 12*16 inches unprimed canvas. I have applied alla prima techniques to paint the set up in one sitting.
In this painting the scissors depict the intellect and the paper the mind. How our systems train the intellect to cut the paper that is the mind instead of understanding and mending the mind as a whole. Ultimately making intelligence the enemy of mind. Society deals only with one dimension of human intellect ‘the brain rest of the human intelligences like emotions , spirituality or mindfulness is completely ignored . We are trained to become the enemy of nature rather than enhancing or giving back to mother nature with our intellect.
When we understand human suffering is caused by intelligence which is becoming the reason for the destruction of nature.
