Artist Statement – Lemons Still Life Art
Lemons Still Life Art is a 30 × 20 cm lemon still life oil painting created on unprimed canvas. The artwork was completed on Day 8 as part of my Art Challenge series. I used the Alla Prima technique to achieve a fresh and immediate finish. This lemon still life oil painting captures spontaneous beauty found within familiar surroundings. It also belongs to my ongoing kitchen still life artwork collection. The inspiration for this painting came directly from my own kitchen during a routine moment.
While preparing ingredients, a single lemon on the counter caught my attention.Its bright color and textured skin immediately stood out in the soft kitchen light.Everyday lemons often fade into the background of our busy routines.Viewed through an artist’s eye, this simple lemon becomes a study of elegance and light.
