Artist Statement – Cupcake and M&M Still Life Art
This painting is 20* 15 cm or 7.87*5.9 inches of oil on unprimed canvas .This painting is a part of the Art Challenge series painted on day 21.I have used Alla Prima techniques to finish the painting .
The setup is taken from my kitchen utility to canvas . This subject, a cup cake paired with M&M’s is a sweet arrangement of subjects . I should admit I was often tempted to eat those during the alla prima session . We see them everyday in the grocery store or mall if one is not used to eating sweets but I see them as a work of art .Afterall the art happens in the mind of the person seeing them.
